Italian 
Poli strumentista saxes e clarinets, he
graduated in Clarinet at the Mascagni Institute in Livorno, he studied sax as
well and Improvisation with Stefano Cantini.
He attends various courses organised by Siena Jazz where he is awarded with a
scholarship for his brilliant partecipation. He followed some internships with
Dave Liebman, Palle Danielsson and Kenny Wheeler.
He played in various formations as a solo at The Big Band in Italy and in other
countries. He took part in some festivals, such as Musical Festival of the youth
in Strasburg and Budapest, he took also part in a variety of jazz festivals,
such as "Rumori Mediterranei" a Roccella Jonica, Anfiteatro Jazz in
Lucca,Gray Cat, Sarteano Jazz, Festival Instabile di Pisa2004, Barga Jazz 2005.
He makes time for composition also, he followed a course with M° M. Di Bari and
attended an internship with M° L. Berio at the Chigiana Accademy in Siena, and
with the pianist Stefano Battaglia.
He studies arrangement as an autodidact for Big Band and Combo groups.
He instituted a quartet with sergio Corbini, Rino Adamo, Riccardo Jenna. with
the latter he plays original pieces and particular arrangiament of pieces
by Monk.
Most of all he plays compositions of his own in various formations“Corbini-Franceschini”
Quintet.
In trio music with Sergio Corbini e Giovanni
Maier, Quintet + Big Band, “Stefano Franceschini quartet”, and as a duo con
il pianist Sergio Corbini.
Since 2000 he has been directing the Suverart Big Band that plays most of all
its arrangements playing in many concerts having as guests Gianni Basso, Marco
Tamburini, Maurizio Giammarco, Giampaolo Casati,Stefano”Cocco”Cantini.
Since 2001 he has been directing the SaraBig Band in Cecina (LI).
In 2006 he takes part in the first edition of
the international contest of arrangement for the Big Band “Piacenza Jazz
Arrangers” and he was awarded with the second place.
He performanced with actors in theaters. They are Sergio Castellitto,
Giuseppe Cederna.
He work as a teacher at the comunal school in Cecina (LI), the school Bonamici
in Pisa, at "Siena Jazz Foundation".
